Answered by Mrs. Cleary,
Teacher-Librarian

Who works in the Library?
Mrs. Cleary is the Teacher-Librarian and Mrs. Lokar is
the Assistant Librarian. There are also community and student
volunteers who keep the library organized and running smoothly.
When is the library open?
The library is open to students and parents from 9:00 am
- 4:00 pm each school day. The library is also open for
both
lunch recesses. Students may come and read, play games,
use the computers or finish class work. Throughout the
day, if you need help in the library, get a pass from your
teacher and come down. We are always happy
to help you locate materials or find that “just right
book!”
How long can I keep the things I check out?
You may check out materials for 1-2 weeks. You may renew
your materials as often as you wish unless they are on
hold for another patron. The book I have is overdue. I've
had it out for a long time. Please bring your book back
to the library as soon as possible, because someone may
be waiting for it. You will not be
able to check out another book until you have brought all
of your books back. There are no fines for overdue books.
If books are more than four weeks overdue, we will assume
it is lost and send you a bill to replace it. It will then
be your responsibility to pay for the book if you cannot
find it or if it has been damaged. At the end of the year,
if the book still has not been returned, your report card
will be held in the office. Remember--it is never too late
to return a book! I got an overdue notice from the library
and I am certain I returned the book. Unfortunately at
times there are glitches
in our circulation system. If you have a question about
a book that is lost
or has a charge, please come see us.
How do I find books in the library?
In the library we have computers to use for searching called
Online Public Access Computers (OPAC). You can search for
books by Title, Author and Subject.
What if I want a book that you don't have?
Let us know! We’re always making lists of book and
materials to purchase. Plus we are happy to help you find
out if our local county library system has what you need.
