Principal's Message Welcome to Mountain View Elementary School. Mountain View, voted a National School of Excellence in 1997, is located at 5780 Hendrickson Rd.  It has been serving the community for over forty years since it was built in 1960. The school has educated and nurtured several generations of Ferndale families and many of our former students still live in the area. Today we serve a population of over 500 students from all areas of the community. Students are instructed using the best current practices in education and are given the opportunity to develop the knowledge, skills, and character necessary to lead a self-reliant, socially responsible life. Children are taught in an environment that is physically and emotionally safe. They are instilled with a "can do" attitude, and develop positive self-esteem through success in learning. As part of our commitment to the success of our students we offer both before and after school programs, providing homework assistance and enrichment in math, reading and communication. We also offer a summer school program for students who need additional instruction support and to catch up and keep up with their peers. We have a very active PTO with many Mountain View parents providing thousands of volunteer hours each year. They serve on many committees and sponsor many exciting enrichment activities for students.
