DIGITAL is the operative word, and Lab 711 is the place to be if you have an interest in learning digital media production. Whether you want to work on a publication, such as a newspaper or yearbook, produce a movie trailer, or design a website, you will find something here in the digital media lab. During the 2011-12 academic year, FHS students may take one or more of the following CTE courses taught in this lab: Aquila (yearbook), Eagle Eye (newspaper), and digital video production. In the past, Mr. Lucas has taught courses in website authoring, digital photography, and graphic design. He also teaches Career Transitions classes, which are designed to help freshmen become successful high school students.

Mr. Lucas' lab is equipped with newer Apple iMac computers running OS X 10.6, which are fully loaded with industry-standard design, publishing and digital imaging software, such as Adobe Creative Suite 4, Final Cut Express, and MS Office for Mac, among others.

If you are a student, I hope this site becomes a valuable tool and resource. Although it is unrealistic to expect that you will receive a bonafide online education in this course, you should make use of this site for finding information relevant to subjects such as production schedules, deadlines, oft-used information, documents, tutorials and a host of other items. When you are between assignments or deadlines, I encourage you to sharpen your axe by visiting other links where you can find cool info on a variety of subjects.
