This is the page for my AVID EC Freshman English class. Below is a link to the syllabus for this class and an excerpt from the course description:
"This course is about achieving effective communication through building reading, writing, listening, thinking, and speaking skills. Students will work on these skills through daily activities that will include small-group discussion, journaling, reading, academic and creative writing, presentations, and creative projects. In this course we will cover media literacy, drama, the novel Animal Farm , short stories, and nonfiction. Throughout each unit, students will complete daily assignments, journal entries, short reading quizzes, and respond to discussion prompts. At the end of each unit, students will be assessed through a unit test and/or a creative project."
