Academy I
This is the page for my AVID EC Academy I class. Below is a link to the syllabus for this class and an excerpt from the course description:
"Early College Academy aims to support and encourage students on a college pathway. The course focuses students on preparing to meet grade level expectations, and acquire the skills and knowledge necessary to succeed in high school, college preparation, and college courses. Early College Academy includes the following areas of instruction: Literacy Workshop, Study Skills, Time Management, Service Learning, Content-Specific reading strategies, higher-level questioning and tutorials. Students are also held accountable for their grades in all courses. Every two weeks, I will check student grades to monitor progress. If a student grade is falling or they are accumulating missing assignments, students will be assigned Study Table in order to get their grades back up. At Study Table, students do have access to both tutors and technology."
