Update on Closing an Elementary School

The Facility Advisory Committee held a community forum January 24 to provide information about the process for deciding which district elementary school will be closed.

Strengthening Families Program Offered

Release Date: January 13, 2012

Strengthening Families Program will be offered to families with 10-14 year old children. The class will meet Tuesdays, January 24-March 6, 2012, from 6:00-8:30 p.m. at Whatcom New Life Fellowship, 2290 Main Street, Ferndale. Fee is $35 for all seven sessions. Childcare is provided.

Surplus Materials Up for Bid

Ferndale School District Board of Directors announces the sale by sealed bid various outdated texts, miscellaneous materials and equipment declared as surplus to the needs of the district.

Eagleridge, Mountain View and Central Elementary School Parent AYP Notification

Release Date: January 10, 2012

This year, Eagleridge, Mountain View and Central Elementary schools are classified as schools in "improvement" for Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP). This means that students who attend those three schools may be eligible to receive extra tutorial support in reading or math this year.

Students' Generosity Expands Around the Globe

Last June students at Clearview High School, Windward High School and Central Elementary School sent a donation of $409.59 to the Build a School in Africa Project, which raises funds to help build schools in the Sikasso Region of southern Mali, West Africa.
