In this pilot project sponsored by The Ferndale Community Meal families will explore ways to prepare healthy meals on a budget. The series will consist of 6 cooking classes.
Topics will include:
March 19th - Southwest Cuisine
April 2nd - Asian Seafood Cuisine
April 16th - Italian Pastas & Salads
May 7th - Sublime Soups & Spices
May 21st - Slow cooked meats, poultry, & veggies
June 4th - Grilling to Perfection
Holiday Asssistance is availalbe to low-income families living in Ferndale through the generosity of the Ferndale Holiday Giving Store. This year the store will be located in the Carnation Building (next to Samuel's Furniture) at 1920 Main St., Suite #1 in Ferndale.
Applications can be obtained through elementary school Family Community Coordinators and Middle and High School counselors. Head Start and Lummi Nation families should contact Family Advocates at their schools for applications.

Operation School Bell gives low-income children in grades K-5 2 new sets of school clothes each year. Parents and guardians can sign their children up for this service by contacting their elementary school's Family Community Coordinator.
Clothing and vouchers are issued on a first come, first served basis. Supplies often run out by December so please act quickly.

The Other Bank provides hygiene, personal care, and household products to low-income families with children in the Ferndale School District. Families may use The Other Bank one time each month. Contact your school's Family Community Coordinator for more information or a registration form.
