New Committees (2011-12)

Ferndale School District is launching three new advisory committees during the current school year. Similar to the Facilities Advisory Committee (FAC), these new groups will be on-going and will have broad-based membership including parents, community members, teachers, classified staff, administrators and students.

The three new advisory committees are:

1. Technology Advisory Committee (TAC)
   
2. Communications Advisory Committee (CAC) (visit CAC page)
   
3. Multicultural Advisory Committee (MAC)

The overarching purposes of the advisory committees will be to:

• Study issues, challenges, and opportunities related to a particular topic (such as facilities, technology, etc.);
  
• Do research and collect input about possible improvements and/or solutions; and
  
• Make recommendations to the school board and/or administration regarding future actions of the school district.

The Technology Advisory Committee and Communications Advisory Committee will begin October 2011 and the Multicultural Advisory Committee will begin February 2012.

Persons interested in serving on either the Technology or Communications Advisory Committee are invited to complete an application form (see below).

Ongoing Committee

The work of the Facilities Advisory Committee (FAC) has been ongoing the past two years, and the first meeting of this school year was held on September 13, 2011. However, this committee is also accepting applications for new members to replace those whose terms have expired. If you are interested in joining FAC, please complete an application (see below).
