Back-to-School Supply Distribution

You're Needed to Help Kids be Ready for School!
Did you know that there are Family Community Coordinators working in each of the elementary schools in Ferndale? Our role in the school is to help eliminate social and economic barriers to learning.

At the beginning of each school year we offer school supplies to students who need help getting ready for school. The collection and one-day distribution of school supplies helped over 600 students last year.

Wednesday, August 24, 2011 from 3:00 - 6:00 p.m.
Vista Middle School Small Gym
6051 Vista Drive, Ferndale

Qualifying families can visit the resource fair to receive school supplies and sign up for: clothing for children kindergarten through grade five, health care, dental screenings, English language learner classes and other community services.

There is a donation box is at the District Office (6041 Vista Drive) if you have any supplies you would like to contribute.

The kinds of supplies needed by all grades include:

• #2 Pencils
• Colored Pencils
• Crayons
• Washable Markers
• Eraser
• 8-Tab Subject Dividers
• Spiral Notebooks (wide and college ruled)
• Notebook Paper (wide and college ruled)
• Glue Sticks
• Ruler
• 1-1/2" & 2" 3-Ring Binders

Please consider organizing a supply drive or special collection with your book club, church group, exercise class or neighbors.
