On all of the following assignments, first turn in a rough draft (typed - double spaced, Courier New, 12pt font); then, turn in the final draft. If possible please submit the assignments on disk or over e-mail. This will save paper and give us a high quality final draft when we do print them.
1. Final resume – include 3 references. Hard copy for Rob. Html for portfolio and saved to disk/altsnap folder.

2. Sample cover letters - respond to three employment ads in the Classified section (see sample cover letters first). You may use the same basic form letter, but customize it for each position. Include a copy of the classified ad.

3. Career Exploration Report - Term paper or Powerpoint presentation or project in your area of interest -include 2 - 3 page report with your project, or 3 pages of text with your Powerpoint, or 3 pages of text, plus references, foot notes, and visuals with your term paper. Use resources on the computer, library, as well as an interview with someone working in that field. Should include at a minimum the following information:

- How does this career fit into your skills, lifestyle and long-term goals?
- What is the income level? Levels of respect/prestige? How important are income/respect/prestige to you?
- Schooling
- Levels of school needed
- Locations of schools
- Cost of schools
- Job locations? Big city, rural towns, country, everywhere
- Why does this job/career interest you?
- Information from talking to a person in this career. If you need help finding someone talk to me.
If you have already taken Jr./Sr. English and completed a Career report you may choose to do a report on another career, or you may do the same career and do one of the other options.
