What Dreams May Come

 

Answer the following questions in your notebook.

 

1. CHARACTER: Write examples from WDMC.

A.     Major: Who? (may be more than one)

B.     Minor: Who? (may be more than one)

C.     Protagonist: Who? (may be more than one)

D.     Antagonist: Who?(may be more than one)

E.      Round: Who? (may be more than one)

F.      Flat: Who? (may be more than one)

 

2. IDEA

A.     What problem(s) does the main character face?

B.     What are the main ideas, messages, or themes of the story?

C.     Pick one of the above and describe how it was shown in the film?

 

3. PLOT Describe the plot of WDMC?

A.     Preceding Action (What happened before the movie began?)

B.     Rising Action (What were a few of the complications/action?)

C.     Climax (Describe the point where the conclusion is in doubt.  Usually the protagonists are in danger of losing what they want.)

D.     Falling Action (What happens after the climax.)

E.      Resolution (How did it all end up?)

 

4. ORGANIZATIONAL CONVENTIONS

A.     Describe the use of flashbacks.  What was shown?  How did it move the plot forward?

B.     Describe the two endings.  Which did you prefer, Hollywood or Original?  Why?  This should be a several sentence paragraph or two.
