  1. Create Title Page.  Open the file 'Title Page' (as "read-only") in the 'Class Resources' folder on Altsnap or see a sample here.  If you use the read-only Title Page, save it into your folder with your title and something that identifies it as a Junior Research paper.

  2. Works Cited: Create sample Works Cited page (bibliography.)  Include at least one of each of the following citation types:
    • Book
    • Magazine
    • Encyclopedia
    • Newspaper
    • Internet
    • Interview

  1. Cover Letter: Finish cover letter assignment.

  1. Cover Letter: Today your assignment is to find a job they would like to apply for in a newspaper or online and write a cover letter from the sample that is appropriate for the job.  They should type it and save it in Microsoft Word with a 12 point font in either Times New Roman Font or Courier New.. 
  2. Electronic portfolio.  Continue work on E-folio pages.

Day 11 - 2/23

  1. Q.o.t.D. #4 - Look back at your answers from Q.o.t.D. #1.  What categories are there?  Divide them into major categories. Which ones might relate to a career?  Which ones relate to passions/hobbies?
  2. Review E-Folio: Look back at your pages.  Is there a consistency of style, color, font, layout?

  1. Complete Resume:  Convert to HTML: (Put in Mozilla.  Save as resume.html).

Day 9 - 2/17

  1. Q.o.t.D. #3 -Tell me about the most valuable experience you have had in the last year.  Give me details!  What did you learn from it?  How will it affect the rest of your life?
  2. Create Resume:  Convert to HTML: (Put in Mozilla.  Save as resume.html).
  3. Create Careers Page for E-folio. Link to intro page and resume.

  1. Research Paper: Review example research paper.

Day 7 - 2/15

  1. Researh Paper: Present example paper.
  2. Checklist:
    • E-folio Page 1 - Incl.: Photo, Intro, links, title
    • E-folio Page 2 - Category of your choice.  (C.O.R.E. suggested)  Links to your Artifact and Reflection from end of last quarter
    • E-folio folder includes: Backup folder, Images (or graphics, pics, photos, etc.) folder.
    • Create C.O.R.E. page with a link to 50 goals.



Day 6 - 2/14

  1. Q.o.t.D. #2 - Reflect on your E-portfolio process so far.  What have you enjoyed about it and why?  What have you learned?  Be specific?  What has been the most difficult or frustrating part of the process?   Look back at your list of 25 (Q.o.t.D. #1).  What direction do you see yourself going for your research paper?  Think in terms of the general first.  Do you want ot work with animals, cars, video production, the homeless?  Then you can get more specific: finding homes for strays in Ferndale, rebuilding a van for Clearview, creating a video showcasing CHS, doing a fundraiser for the food bank.
  2. Mozilla Walk Through: photo shrinkage, using an images folder and naming conventions.


Day 5 - 2/11

  1. Finish page with linked Artifact and Reflection from last Quarter's CORE to one of your Web pages. Check in with Rob for suggestions.
  2. If you have not already done so, create a page for your 50 goals and 30 steps assignments.
  3. Save a backup of your eflio page in a folder titled 'efolioback' or something else appropriate.



Day 4 - 2/10

  1. Finish E-Portfolio Intro page.  Check in with Rob for suggestions.
  2. Begin a second page: Pictures, CORE, Creative Writing, etc.
  3. Link Artifact and Reflection from last Quarter's CORE to one of your Web pages.
  4. If you have not already done so, create a page for your 50 goals and 30 steps assignments.

  4. Create 'student, joe' Folder in TempStudFold on altsnap/students/TempStudFold.
  5. Create a subfolder titled 'Jr/Sr English'
  6. Create a subfolder titled 'efolio' or 'eport' or 'portfolio' or ?.
  7. Begin intro of Mozilla and Electronic Portfolio Intro Page with Mozilla.
