  1. Q.o.t.D #15: hIn this WASL week we may ask ourselves: what good are tests?  While we're about it, what good is school?  In your perfect world how would babies grow into adults?  What's the point of life?  Why should we work, learn, etc.?
  2. Junior Research Paper: Rough Drafts Due.  I need to get these so I can respond to them.  I have never passed anyone's JR Paper without revisions!

  2. Researching, researching, researching. Remember you need to have an interview of some sort. Ask me for help if you need it.

Your Response will be a drawing that tries to express the meaning of the story. If you're having difficulty deciding what to express graphically refer to the questions. on page 321.

  2. Take the ideas and comments and rewrite as you are typing it into a Word document.

  1. PLEASE ANSWER THIS IN A WORD DOCUMENT. Q.o.t.D. #5 - Electronic Portfolios. What do you like/dislike about electronic portfolios? How do they compare with the Binder Portfolios at the high school? How many pages do you have and which ones? Pull up your e-folio and evaluate your pages. Is there a consistent pattern/color scheme/font choice to your pages? Does each page have links to other pages or back to the beginning. This could be the beginning of an Artifact and Reflection for this quarter.

Day 2 - 2/9

  1. Reading #1 - Read the sample Research Paper. Make a listof the main points and write down any vocabulary that is unfamiliar.
  2. Brainstorming Topic Categories
  3. Discuss paper expectations: interview, length, etc.
  4. Go to the lab. Surf the web for your topic. See if you can find enough sources to do a lengthy research paper.
  5. Go To altsnap/students/TempStudFold/Class Resources. Open the Works Cited document as READ ONLY. Save as into your Junior English Research Paper folder. Repeat with the Title Page.
   

Day 1 - 2/8
  1. Introduction: Expectations:  JrB Research Paper, Electronic Portfolio.
  2. Concept of Question of the Day: Q.o.t.D. [2/3-3/4 page (I will give extra points for more.)]
  3. Q.o.t.D. #1 - Tell me what you have done in terms of research papers in your school history: length, citations, classes. Then brainstorm a list of 25 things you are interested in, curious about or interested in doing as a career.
  4. Lab Intro: Logging on. 
  5. Create "astudent" Folder in TempStudFold on altsnap/students/TempStudFold.
  6. Create a subfolder titled Jr/Sr English
  7. Getting to Class assignments online.
  8. Decorate Cover of notebook.  Pictures are good if they're worth a thousand words, but I also want words that represent you and what you believe.
