Book report
- Choose a book of at least 200 pages, see
me
for
approval of your
choice.
- Write a summary of the book. 300-500 words.
- Choose
one of the following
writing choices. This section
should
be 300-500 words.
- Write 2-4 letters to characters, giving them advice
about
problems they are having in the book.
- Write 4 diary entries as if they were
written by one of the
characters in the book.
- Compare/contrast 2 characters from the book. Use a Venn
diagram to organize.
- Write a prediction of what each of the characters will
be
doing 10 years after the story has ended.
- Write 6 poems for characters in the book. No minimum
word
count, but remember quality.
- Write about some real-life examples of people who have
had
similar problems or have done things like the people in the story.
- Choose at least 5 of the most important story events
and
describe them in chronological order- create a detailed time line.
- Choose a problem that was presented in the
book
and discuss how the problem was solved; include other ways of solving
the problem.
- Write a different ending for the story.
- Write a book review for the school newspaper.
- Create a PowerPoint presentation of at least 6 pages
with
sound, graphics and at least 200-250
words that represents your
learnings from this book.
- Recreate a scene in the book in the form of a diorama
and
write at least 200-250
words to describe the scene.
- Create a collage that represents your learnings from
this
book and write at least 200-250 words
describing how the
collage relates to the book.
- Create 4 graphic novel pages with dialogue of a scene
from
your book. Write a short reflection write at least 50-100 words
on the processof transferring words to vision.
- Do you have another idea? Come talk to me.
- The
report should be
in a 12 point font and include a cover
page with graphic(s). In addition, remember that a minimum of two
drafts is expected. Multiple drafts may be required to bring work up to
an 80%/Mastery level.
