Book report

    1. Choose a book of at least 200 pages, see me for approval of your choice.
    2. Write a summary of the book. 300-500 words.
    3. Choose one of the following writing choices. This section should be 300-500 words.
      1. Write 2-4 letters to characters, giving them advice about problems they are having in the book.
      2. Write 4 diary entries as if they were written by one of the characters in the book.
      3. Compare/contrast 2 characters from the book. Use a Venn diagram to organize.
      4. Write a prediction of what each of the characters will be doing 10 years after the story has ended.
      5. Write 6 poems for characters in the book. No minimum word count, but remember quality.
      6. Write about some real-life examples of people who have had similar problems or have done things like the people in the story.
      7. Choose at least 5 of the most important story events and describe them in chronological order- create a detailed time line.
      8. Choose a problem that was presented in the book and discuss how the problem was solved; include other ways of solving the problem.
      9. Write a different ending for the story.
      10. Write a book review for the school newspaper.
      11. Create a PowerPoint presentation of at least 6 pages with sound, graphics and at least 200-250 words that represents your learnings from this book.
      12. Recreate a scene in the book in the form of a diorama and write at least 200-250 words to describe the scene.
      13. Create a collage that represents your learnings from this book and write at least 200-250 words describing how the collage relates to the book.
      14. Create 4 graphic novel pages with dialogue of a scene from your book.  Write a short reflection write at least 50-100 words on the processof transferring words to vision.

  1. The report should be in a 12 point font and include a cover page with graphic(s). In addition, remember that a minimum of two drafts is expected. Multiple drafts may be required to bring work up to an 80%/Mastery level.
