Student
enrollment in the district is forecasted to increase from 5,030
students in 2003 to 6,840 students in 2023 with 1,095 student growth
at the elementary level.
The
district’s long-range plan calls
for a new elementary school to open for students in the fall
of 2007.
The
district has already purchased
a site for the elementary school which is located in the northwest
quadrant of the district.
Architect
Alex Rolluda was hired to design the
elementary school that would house approximately 500 students.
The
location of the school will ease the overcrowding at
existing elementary schools
which may become impacted due to population shifts that are
not predictable
at this point in time.
